Sergeant Donald Wilson

Sergeant Donald John Ross Wilson, Royal Air Force. He flew with 8 Squadron, R.A.F. and was killed in action on 10 August 1940, aged 24. He was the son of Alexander and Robertina Wilson of Yarrowfeus, Yarrow, Selkirk and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Alamein, Egypt. At that time the Squadron were flying the Bristol Blenheim Mark 1 bomber and were attacking the Italians who had just invaded British Somaliland.
