Private R. A. Tocker, 13th ( Service ) Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was killed in action, aged 22, in Italy on 7th July 1918, aged 22. He was the son of Thomas and the late Eleanor Tocker of Wooler and is buried in Barenthal Military Cemetery, Asiago, Italy. His Headstone is inscribed ” A Thoughtful Son A Brother Kind A Beautiful Memory Left Behind”. British Divisions had been sent to Italy to prop up the Italian Army after their disastrous defeat at Caporetto in October/November the previous year.
