Private James Fettis, 6th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameron Highlanders . He was killed in action in France during the German March Offensive on 28th March 1918, aged 25. He had been born in Wooler and was the son of Jane and the late John Fettis of Church Street, Wooler and 20 Percy Avenue, Catchgate, Annfield Plain, Co. Durham and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France. Thomas Fettis ( see above ) was his brother. He had been born in Wooler and had originally enlisted in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. before enlisting he had been employed as a chimney sweep.
