Private Joshua Locke

Private Joshua Locke, 15th ( Service ) Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.  He was killed in action in France on the 16th September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. He was the youngest son of Matthew and Elizabeth Lock who had been born at Ford. At the time of his enlistment he had been living at Tenterhill, Wooler and had been employed as a farm horseman.
