Private Thomas Paterson. 23rd ( Reserve ) Battalion ,Lancashire Fusiliers. He died of wounds on 29th November 1918 aged 35. He was the son of Hugh and Alice Paterson and husband of Jessie Paterson of Newbigging Walls, Lauder and is buried in St Ledger, Churchyard, Belgium. He was wounded during the ” Advance to Victory ” and the photographs show Allied troops pushing after the retreating German Army.
