Private Thomas Cockburn, 5th/6th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles ) He was killed in Belgium on 10th March 1918, aged 19, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium. He had been born in Swinton and was the son of Robert and Barbara Cockburn of Swinton. The Battalion was part of the 19th Brigade, 33rd Division.
