Trooper Walter Linton

Trooper Walter Dodds Linton, 2nd Life Guards. He died on 19th December 1917, aged 27. He was the son of David and Mary Linton of Spence’s Buildings, Stow. He had been taken ill whilst at Windsor and had drowned while taking a bath in the Cavalry Hospital. He had been born in Kirkhope, Selkirkshire and was the son of David and Margaret Linton, Spence’s Buildings, Stow and is buried in Spittal Cemetery, Windsor. Before enlisting in July 1917 he had been employed as a parcels porter at Waverley Station, Edinburgh.
