Signalman Robert Allan, 5th Searchlight Brigade Signals, Royal Corps of Signals. He died in France between 28th May and 2nd June 1940, aged 24 during the fighting around and the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk, France. He had been born at Ashiestiel, Caddonfoot, Selkirkshire and was the son of Elizabeth Turnbull of, Channelkirk, Berwickshire and is commemorated on the Dunkirk Memorial, France.
