Private John Munro

Private John Munro,  ( Possibly ) 13th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died, aged 20, of wounds in a German Field Hospital on 14th April 1918 whilst a Prisoner of War. He was the son of Isabella and the late Charles Munro of Edinburgh and is buried in Braine-le- Compte Communal Cemetery, Belgium. He had enlisted in February 1915 in Galashiels and his Headstone is inscribed ” One Of The Best”. He had already been wounded twice and had been evacuated with frostbite in December 1917 to a hospital in Boulogne.
