Corporal James Rutherford, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. ( K.O.S.B. records do not show a James Rutherford ). However C.W.G.C. site shows a Trooper James Rutherford of 3rd County of London Yeomanry ( Sharpshooters ) Royal Armoured Corps so probably he had originally enlisted in the K.O.S.B. before transferring to the Royal Armoured Corps. He was the son of James and Janet Rutherford of St Boswells. He died on 6th January 1943 and is buried in Ancona War Cemetery, Italy. The Regiment was equipped with the Sherman tank.
