Private William Tait, 5th/6th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Cameronians. He died in France, aged 19, on the 26th April 1918 from wounds suffered during the German Spring Offensives. He had been born in Selkirk in 1898 and was the son of John and Agnes Tait of 13 Goslaw Green, Selkirk. He died in the 13th General Hospital in Boulogne and is buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” He gave His Life For Those He Loved”.
