Private Thomas Peden

Private Thomas Henderson Peden, 1st Battalion, Cameronians. He died in hospital on Service , aged 33, on the 3rd March 1919. He had been born in Selkirk in 1885 and was the son of the late Alison Peden and Peter Peden of Broadmeadows Lodge, Yarrowford. He was the husband of Grace Peden of 3 Thistle Street, Kirkintilloch. He was employed as a gardener at Gartshore House, Kirkintilloch when he enlisted. At some time later he was transferred to the 405th Agricultural Coy. Labour Corps. He died from influenza and pneumonia in the Hamilton Barracks Military Hospital and is buried in Kirkintilloch ( Auld Aisle ) Cemetery.
