Private Ian Munro, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France, aged 21, on the 14th June 1918 and is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, Soissons, France. He was the son of Alexander and Henrietta Munro of the Queen’s Head Inn Selkirk, West Port, Selkirk. He had originally enlisted in the Army Service Corps but was posted to the R.W.F. in France in January 1917.
