Private Alexander Scott

Private Alexander Scott, 1st/4th ( Border ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died from dysentery, aged 20, in the University Hospital, Southampton on the 20th December 1915. He had been born in Selkirk in 1895 and was the son of Margaret Scott of 12 Halliday’s Park, Selkirk. He is buried in Selkirk Cemetery. He had enlisted in September 1914 and had gone to Gallipoli in June 1915 where he had contracted dysentery and was evacuated to Southampton where he died.
