Sergeant Thomas Biggar M.M.

Sergeant Thomas Biggar M.M., 12th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He was killed in action in France on 16th July 1918, aged 21. He was the son of Jane Biggar of Heiton, Kelso and is buried in Le Peuplier Military Cemetery, Caestre, France. He had been wounded twice before winning the Military Medal for gallantry in the field in 1917. Before enlisting he had been employed as a tailor in the village of Heiton, Roxburghshire. He had been born in Kelso and had enlisted in Edinburgh.
