Private John Scott

Private John Scott, 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was killed in France, aged 19, on the 28th August 1915. He was born in Channelkirk, Oxton in 1896 and was the son of John and Christina Scott of Standpretty, Borthwick, Midlothian. Before enlisting in December 1914 he had been employed as a miner at Arniston Colliery, Gorebridge. He is buried in Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy ,France.
