Lance Corporal Thomas Turnbull

Lance Corporal Thomas Turnbull, 5th ( Western Cavalry), Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He died from wounds , aged 22, in Woburn Military Hospital , England on the 12th June 1916. He had been employed as a farm servant at Harden Mains, Oxnam before emigrating to Canada where he  continued working in the farming sector. After being wounded in France he was initially treated in the 1st Canadian General Hospital in Etaples before being evacuated to England. He is buried in Woburn ( St. Mary) Churchyard, Woburn, Bedfordshire. ( He may have been wounded during the Battle of Mount Sorrel which involved two Canadian Divisions and was fought between the 2nd-13th June 1916 ).
