Private Peter Allan

Private Peter Allan, 6th ( Service ) Battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers. He died in France on 30th August 1918, aged 19, and is buried in Fourmies Communal Cemetery, Nord, France. His is one of only nine British First World War graves in this cemetery. He had been born in Maxton and was the son of Andrew and Agnes Allan of Sprouston Cottages, Newtown St. Boswells. He had been made prisoner in April 1918 during the German spring Offensives but had contracted dysentery and died in a German field hospital in Fourmies.
