Aircraftsman 1st Class John Stoddart

Aircraftsman 1st Class John Bell Stoddart, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He died on Service at Inverness Raigmore Military Hospital, aged 30, on 28th November 1942 from ulcerative colitis and is buried in Melrose ( Wairds ) Cemetery. He was the son of Jane and the late Peter Stoddart of Rose Cottage Newton St. Boswells and the husband of Nan Stoddart of Ingleside, Eildon, Newton St Boswells.  Before enlisting he had been employed as a sorting clerk and telegraphist
