Corporal James Todd

Corporal James Todd, 10th City of Edinburgh Battalion, Home Guard. He died at Home, aged 42, on 27th July 1942. He was the son of James and Agnes Todd and the husband of Nellie Mercer Todd of Eildon Terrace, Newtown St. Boswells. He is buried in Melrose ( Wairds ) Cemetery. He was employed as a booking clerk at St. Boswells station and was on exercise with his platoon when he collapsed and died. In the Great War he had served as a sapper with the Royal Engineers.
