Driver Frank Elliot

Driver Frank Hall Elliot, 13th Pontoon Park, Royal Engineers. He died from malaria in Egypt on Active Service on 6th October 1918, aged 34 and is buried in Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. He was the adopted son of Robert and Margaret Elliot of ” Mayfield “, Jedburgh and was originally a Trooper with the 1st/2nd Scottish Horse before transferring into the Royal Engineers. Before enlisting in October 1914 he had been employed as a groom at Newton Don stables, Nenthorn. His Headstone is inscribed ” He Fought The Good Fight”.
