Private Thomas Dickinson

Private Thomas Dickinson, 9th ( Service ) Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles. He died in France on 26th October 1917 aged 28. He was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Dickinson of Newstead, Melrose and is buried in Neuville-Bourjonval British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He had been part of the Royal Irish Rifles when his cavalry regiment , the North Irish Horse had been absorbed into that Regiment. Before enlisting he had been employed as a draper and then a forester at Ravenswood, Melrose.
