Private John Cruickshank, 13th Coy. Labour Corps. He died in Belgium on 5th August 1917, aged 37, and is buried in Gwalia Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium. For further details see under Donald Cruickshank) He had been employed as a stonemason in Melrose before enlisting in the K.O.S.B. and then transferring into the Labour Coy. Seaforth Highlanders and thence into the Labour Corps where his skills as a Stonemason would be useful.
