Private William Thomson

Private William Black Thomson, 13th (Service), Battalion, Black Watch. He died from wounds in France, aged 21, in the 12th Casualty Clearing Station at Buisgny on the 4th November 1918. He had been born in Morebattle and was the son of John and Alice Thomson of Byrecleuch, Longformacus. He had been wounded during the “Advance to Victory” and is buried in Busigny Communal Cemetery, Extension, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” In Remembrance Of Dear Wuddy”.  The photos show Allied troops advancing after the retreating German Army in the final 100 days of the War.
