Private David Davidson

Private David Stewart McQuillin Davidson, 6th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in England during the Blitz on 18th November 1940, aged 19. He was the son of John and Grace ( nee McQuillin ) Davidson of Newcastleton and is buried in Ettleton Old Churchyard, Roxburghshire .At that time the Battalion was billeted in the pleasure park at Theydon Bois, Essex near London when two platoon billets of ” A ” Coy. were struck by a landmine dropped by German raiders. 30 men were killed and another 30 were injured.
