Fusilier Robert Robertson, 9th Battalion, Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He died in Thailand, aged 26, on the 4th September 1943 whilst a prisoner of War of the Japanese. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Robertson of Belford and is buried in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Thailand. He was captured with most of his Battalion when Singapore was surrendered to the Japanese on the 15th February 1942.
