Lance Corporal Thomas Gordon

Lance Corporal Thomas Johnston Gordon, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France on 3rd May 1917 during the Battle of Arras. He was the husband of Jean Purdie Gordon and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France. He had been born in Kirknewton and lived at Bendor, Wooler. He fell in the failed attack at ” Infantry Hill ” which cost the Battalion 296 casualties including 8 Officers and 87 Other Rank fatalities. The photos show troops during the Battle.
