Private George Dickson Tait, 1st Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in Belgium on 31st May 1940, aged 27. He was the son of James and Lillias Tait of Kelso and is buried in Adinkerke Military Cemetery, Flanders, Belgium. He fell in the fighting to hold the Dunkirk perimeter whilst the evacuation was taking place. His Headstone is inscribed ” He Died That Others Might Live”.
