Second Lieutenant Andrew Watson

Second Lieutenant Andrew McKenzie Watson, Royal Army Ordnance Corps. He died at Home on 10th August 1943, aged 28. He was the son of James Murray Watson and Catherine Scott Watson of Kelso and is buried in Kelso Churchyard. Before enlisting he had been employed as an accountant in the Comrie branch of the Commercial Bank. He had been a keen rugby player and had played for both Kelso R.F.C. and Kelso Harlequins. He had been commissioned in January 1943 and was stationed in Northern Ireland where he contracted pneumonia and died in hospital there.
