Private Andrew Elliot Tinlin, 7th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in France on 24th February 1916, aged 21. He was the son of Robert Tinlin of Toll House, Sprouston and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Dud Corner, Loos, France. At the time the Battalion were holding trenches in the Hill 70 sector near Loos and were subjected to intermittent shelling.
