Lance Corporal Alexander Gibb, ” A” Coy. 6th Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in England in an air raid on 18th November 1940. He was the son of Andrew and Jane Gibb of Kelso and is buried in Kelso Churchyard. His Headstone is inscribed ” Gone But Not Forgotten “. The Battalion had been based at Theydon Bois pleasure park in Essex whilst the Blitz on London was going on.. Two platoon billets of ” A” Coy. were hit by a German land mine and 30 men were killed with a further 30 wounded
