Private Adam Logan

Private Adam Hastie Logan, 9th Battalion, Australian Infantry Forces. He was killed in action on 20th July 1918 in France, aged 30. At that time the Battalion was in the Hazebrouck sector and took part in many patrol actions. He had been born in Ayton and was the son of Adam and Agnes Logan of Ferney Castle, Reston, Berwickshire and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. He had been educated at the Berwickshire High School, Duns  and had emigrated to Australia where he had worked as a book-keeper in Queensland. He is also commemorated on the Memorial Tablet placed in the new Berwickshire High School, Duns. The photos show Australians on the march in France.
