Private James Notman, 5th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. He was killed in Belgium on 27th November 1915 aged 19. He had been born in Ledgerwood, Berwickshire to Alexander and the late Susan Notman and is buried in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground ( Transport Farm ), Flanders, Belgium. Before enlisting in May 1915 he had been employed as a farm servant at Kittyfield, Gattonside, Melrose.
