Private Walter Douglas, 1st Battalion, Gordon Highlanders. He died from wounds in France, aged 19, on the 2nd April 1918 during the German Spring Offensives and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Jane and the late Walter Douglas of 19 Kyle Street, Ayr. The photos show Allied troops in defensive positions.
