Private Robert King

Private Robert Patterson King, 1st/5th (Territorial) Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in action in France, aged 22, on the 29th July 1918 and is buried in Oulchy-Le-Chateau Churchyard Extension, Aisne, France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Robert and Joan King of 12 Smith Street, Kinross. His family had move to Kinross from Galashiels in 1911 and he had enlisted there serving in Egypt and Palestine before moving to France in April 1918. His Headstone is inscribed ” Until The Day Dawns”.
