Private John Green, 6th (Service) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He died from wounds in France, aged 23, on the 23rd August 1917 and is buried in Hermies British Cemetery, France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of James and Margaret Green of Low Buckholmside, Galashiels. He had enlisted in August 1914 and served with the 2nd Battalion in France Later he served with the 1st and 6th Battalions.
