Private James Gibson, 1st Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. He was killed in action in France, aged 28, on the 13th October 1915 during the battle of Loos. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of James and the late Margaret Gibson of 30 Scott Street, Galashiels. He had been employed as a moulder when he enlisted in April 1915 and is commemorated on the Loos memorial, Dud Corner, Loos, France.
