Private James Douglas, M.S.M.

Private James Douglas M.S.M., 17th (Service) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died from wounds in France in the 56th Casualty Clearing Station, Gezaincourt, aged 34, on the 2nd June 1918 and is buried in Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, Somme, France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Archibald and the late Barbara of 44 St. Andrew Street, Galashiels. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for valuable services rendered with the Forces in France.
