Private Haxton Lang, 2nd Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. He died from wounds at Salonika, aged 26, on the 7th October 1916 and is buried in Salonika ( Lembet Road), Military Cemetery, Greece. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of the late James and Sarah Lang formerly of School Close, Galashiels. He had been living in Leith when he enlisted and joined the 5th Camerons in France in October 1915 before transferring to the 2nd Battalion which went to Salonika in December 1915.
