Private Frederick Hislop

Private Frederick David Campbell Hislop, 3rd/9th ( Reserve) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died at Home, aged 23, on the 5th October 1916 from T.B. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of James and the late Mary Hislop of 190 Croft Street, Galashiels. He was a well known local vocalist and was working as a Clerk when he enlisted in December 1915. However in September 1916 he was discharged as medically unfit due to T.B.
