Private Allan Hincklieff, 5th (Service) Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. He died in the King George Hospital, Lambeth, London, aged 28, from wounds suffered in action in France. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Allan and the late Margaret Hincklieff of Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire where he had worked as a tailor. He had enlisted in Halifax and had joined the 1st Battalion in France in June 1915. At some point he was transferred to the 5th Battalion. He is buried in Eastlands Cemetery, Galashiels.
