Lance Corporal William Dodds, 4th (Border) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in France, aged 23, on the 24th April 1917 during the Battle of Arras. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of William and Margaret Dodds of 84 Magdala Terrace, Galashiels and is buried in Fifteen Ravine British Cemetery, Villers-Plouich, Arras, France. He had originally enlisted in the K.O.S.B. but in France he was transferred to the 14th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. The photos show troops at Arras.
