Private Robert Ireland Black, Army Service Corps att. Guards Division Motor Transport Company, He died on Service in Germany, aged 30, on the 12th March 1919. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Black of Galashiels. He had been in France since 1915 and went with the Guards Division into Germany in December 1918, Here he fell ill and died in the 64th Casualty Clearing Station and is buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany.
