Private John Brown

Private John Elder Brown, 9th (Service) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He died fro wounds in France, aged 19, and is buried in Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, France. He had been born in Galashiels son of George and Mary Brown of 6 Ladhope Bank, Galashiels. Before enlisting he had been employed as a plumber. ( His brother George also fell- see above ). His Headstone is inscribed “Thy Will Be Done”
