Private George William Victor Buchanan, 1st/5th (Territorial) Battalion, Cameronians. He was killed in action in France, aged 18, on the 26th January 1915 and is buried in Houplines Communal Cemetery Extension, France. He had been born in Jedburgh and was the son of Colour Sergeant Thomas Buchanan, 7th K.O.S.B. and Janet Buchanan. He had been an apprentice engineer when he enlisted in Glasgow in August 1914 landing in France with his Battalion in November 1914.
