Private Ernest Gilbert Brownlee, 69th Field Ambulance, Royal army Medical Corps. he died on Active Service in France, aged 19, on the 6th July 1916. He had been born in Galashiels and was the son of Gilbert and Jane Brownlee of 6 Hall Street, Galashiels. He is buried in Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France.
