Private David Brownlee

Private David Purves Brownlee, “C” Coy., 10th (Service) Battalion, Cameronians. He died from wounds in France, aged 19, on the 12th June 1918. He died in the 7th Casualty Clearing Station at Ligny-St. Flochel and is buried in Ligny St. Flochel, British Cemetery, Averdoingt, France. He was born in Galashiels and was the son of Robert and Annie Brownlee of 50 Waverley Place, Galashiels. He had originally enlisted in the 4th K.O.S.B. but was posted to the Cameronians in France. ( His brother Robert also died during the War, see below ).
