Private Andrew Dalgleish, 17th Field Bakery, Army Service Corps. He died on Active Service, aged, 32 on the 14th May 1918 and is buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France. He had been born in Dublin and was thye son of Andrew and Jane Dalgleish of Cannon Street, Selkirk. Before enlisting in May 1915 he had been employed as a baker in Galashiels and was living at 189 Magdala Terrace. He went to France in January 1916 but contracted broncho pneumonia in 1918 and died in the 2nd Canadian Stationary Hospital. His Headstone is inscribed ” Too Dearly Loved To Be Forgotten From Father Mother Brother &Sisters”.
