Flying Officer John Scott

Flying Officer John Owen Scott,  Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed in a flying accident at R.A.F. Charterhall on 5th August 1944 aged 27. His Bristol Beaufighter suffered starboard engine failure on a landing approach and spun into the ground. He was the son of Robert and Mary Berry Scott and the husband of Kythe Irene Scott of Inverness and is buried in Fogo Churchyard. ( He was a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society but is not on the Fogo War Memorial). His Headstone is inscribed ” Until We Meet Again “.
