Flight Lieutenant Ernest Arthur Clough, 279 Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He died on 13th July 1945 and is buried in Fogo Churchyard. ( His name is not on the Fogo War Memorial ). 279 Squadron was based at R.A.F. Thornaby and was operational as an Air Sea Rescue Unit of Coastal Command. At the date of death the Squadron were using the Supermarine Sea Otter.
